Tamil Nadu: State Election officials seized about Rs 570 crore from three trucks during checking in Tirupur district on Saturday. While officials suspected a foul play the occupants of the vehicles claimed that cash in them was meant for inter-bank transfer.

These vehicles belonged to State Bank of India and were on its way from Coimbatore to Visakhapatnam.

There was a bit of confusion with regard to their identity. Because of this the vehicles were not stopped. The officials chased and stopped them near Chengapalli.

When asked why they had sped away they told the police that they mistook them to be robbers. Officials from State Bank of India Coimbatore and Vishakhapatnam were informed and are rushing to the spot, police said.
