Lucknow: The 14th President of the country, Ram Nath Kovind, was born in a small village, Paroukh, in Derapur, Tehsil of Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh. Although everyone knows about the President, but hardly anyone knows about his son or daughter. He is a proud father of two children, one son named Prashant Kumar and daughter named Swati.

Son Prashant

Ramnath Kovind's son Prashant Kumar is the eldest of the two children. He also has a younger sister named Swati. Prashant, 41, runs a petrol pump near Hindon Air Force Station in Ghaziabad. He has also been a cabin manager at Jet Airways.

Prashant has studied up to 12th standard from the famous Sardar Patel School in Delhi. He then did hotel management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa. Prashant's wife Gauri Kumar is a teacher in the junior wing of Air Force Bal Bharti School, Lodhi Road.

Daughter Swati

Ramnath Kovind's daughter, Swati Kovind is an air hostess in Indian Airlines, and shetravels long route to various countries like America, France and Russia.

She never bragged and applied for a major job by using her father's name. She believes her father's saying, "One should be independent".

Swati says that her entire family is down to earth and every member of the family wants to emerge independent like her father. She says that her father always instructs all the children to study well and this is the reason why she and her brother are not dependent on anyone. She believes that her father has reached this height only due to his hard work.
