Hyderabad: Giving an insensitive remark, Telangana Home Minister Md Mahmood Ali pointed out that the victim could be saved if called police instead of her sister. He made his statement at the victim's residence in Shamshabad.

On being questioned by the media persons and in an attempt to cover up the insensitivity, the minister stated, " My intention is not to find fault with her. She is like my daughter and no daughter should be in such a situation. We are taking several measures for the protection of women in the state and several initiatives like SHE teams are also in place."

The HM also added that the case will be tried by the fast track court. "We will also ensure that the culprits gets capital punishment at the earliest, like in the case of the newborn's rape and murder at Warangal in June," he said.

It is to be mentioned that the veterinarian doctor was gang-raped and murdered on Wednesday night.

Despite the complaint being lodged on Wednesday night, the "very competent" Telangana police found her charred body of the veterinarian doctor after being informed by a milkman. The body was found near Shadnagar town (about 25 kms from Shamshabad) under a bridge on Thursday morning.
