Kanpur: The family members of the slain terrorist Saifullah, who was gunned down after 11-hour armed encounter with Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh in Thakurganj area of Lucknow, refused to accept his body on Wednesday.

Kanpur: The family members of the slain terrorist Saifullah, who was gunned down after 11-hour armed encounter with Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh in Thakurganj area of Lucknow, refused to accept his body on Wednesday.

Uncle of the terrorist, Nasim Ahmed, said that they did not know about the former's intentions and their family is not traitor.

"Saifullah was my nephew but we were not in touch since many years. We were shocked when we came to know that the terrorist caught by ATS was Saifullah," said Nasim Ahmed.

Denying his children's involvement in the terror attack, Ahmed said, "My sons are innocent. A proper investigation should be done regarding the matter."

When asked about the offensive material found from their laptops and mobiles, he said, "My sons used to study literature of each religion."

  • Ahmed is a father of three suspected terrorist who were caught by the UP ATS and Kanpur Police.
  • The suspects were identified as Faizal, Imran and Danish.

  • Ahmed is also an uncle of Saifullah, who was killed in the early hours on Wednesday in Thakurganj area of Lucknow.
  • Faizal was caught by Kanpur police at his residence in Tiwaripur locality of Chakeri police station.
  • Imran was traced by ATS in Banthar region of Unnao district.
  • Danish was arrested by the police in Madhya Pradesh.

They (suspects) worked for the ISIS Khorasan’s Lucknow-Kanpur module.
