Indian Army guns down three terrorists, recovers three weapons

Srinagar: Indian Army gunned down three terrorists after they attacked the 30 Rashtriya Rifles army camp at Langate in Handwara of Jammu and Kashmir on early Thursday morning. Four terrorists dressed up in army combat uniforms opened fire at the camp at around 0500 hours, which was retaliated by the Jawans. The army officers also recovered three weapons from the armed militants.

The northern Command's official twitter handle stated that the army gunned down three terrorists after hours of firing. "Three Terrorists killed, Three weapons recovered," the tweet said.

"At around 0500 hours, some armed men opened fire on an army camp at Langate in Handwara, which was retaliated by the alert jawans,” an army official said.

“The troops were alert and the attack was foiled,” the official added.

Army has cordoned off the area and is conducting search operation.

It may be mentioned that a similar attack took place at the camps of Border Security Forces in Baramulla of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday last in which two terrorists had been gunned down while one BSF jawan was martyred.
