One army jawan martyred, 7 injured in Zakura terror attack

Srinagar: At least one jawan of paramilitary force SSB has been martyred and seven others injured in a terror attack carried out at soldiers' convoy near the CRPF camp in Zakura of Srinagar on Friday.

A convoy of Sashastra Semma Bal (SSB) was attacked when it was returning back to its camp.

"Three companies of SSB patrol party were returning to camp from duty when at around 7:30 pm terrorists opened fire on one of the vehicles," said SSB official.

The injured have been rushed to the nearby hospital.

The fire has been exchanged between the Army and terrorists. The area has been cordoned off by the security personnel.

Following Indian Army's surgical strike, it is the sixth terror attack.
