Punjab: Tension prevails in Majitha after ‘birs’ desecrated

Majitha: Tension gripped the Ramdiwali Musalmana village of Majitha district in Punjab after ‘birs’ of holy Guru Granth Sahib was allegedly desecrated by three persons.

The accused have been identified as Prem Singh, Shamsher Singh and Raju Masih. They all are residents of the same village, said Senior Superintendent of Police Jasdeep Singh.

A case under Section 436, 452, 457, 295 and 295-A of the IPC has been registered against them, he said.
