Tamil Nadu Rain: IMD issues red alert in Chennai, School-Colleges shut in 21 districts

New Delhi: People are in bad condition due to rain in Tamil Nadu. Even today, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Thiruvallur, Chennai, Kancheepuram and Ranipettai districts.

Heavy Rain in Tamil Nadu:

At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Chengalpattu, Tirupattur and Vellore districts. Let us tell you that on Wednesday also there was heavy rain in Tamil Nadu.

On the other hand, India Meteorological Department's Southern Region Head S Balachandran predicted extremely heavy rainfall in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu on Thursday. He said that a low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. It is moving towards us and a low pressure area is also forming in the Arabian Sea. Due to low pressure in the east and west, there will be heavy rain.

He said fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea. The general public has been advised to follow all safety measures and not to venture out unnecessarily. The Meteorological Department has advised people to make adequate storage of drinking water. According to the department, many parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikkal are likely to receive rain till November 21.
