New Delhi: The farmers of Tamil Nadu, who were in the nation's capital to meet Prime Minister, stripped outside South Block near Rashtrapati Bhavan after they were not allowed to meet the PM.

The farmers were protesting at Jantar Mantar for last 28 days and they wanted to meet PM, on Monday, and share their grievances and demands. However, they were asked to submit their list to PMO official.

As soon as the farmers were escorted out of the PMO building by a police vehicle, one of the farmers jumped out of the van and stripped, shouting slogans and chanting 'Shiva' on Raisina Hill. Later,he was joined by other farmers including their leader P Ayyakannu. Three out of nine farmers started rolling on the street.

The farmers from Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli came to Delhi and have been protesting at Jantar Mantar since March 14.

The farmers claimed that their cops have been destroyed by drought and the subsequent cyclone Vardah and they are unable to pay back their dues.

It may be mentioned that earlier, they had protested by wearing skulls, shaving heads and facial hair to gain the attraction of the government.
