New Delhi: India's External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj held a meeting with Norwegian PM Erna Solberg, on Tuesday to discuss upon various political issues and to strengthen mutual solidarity between the two countries.

The meeting is proposed to boost the blue economy (Ocean economy) as well as to solidify political relationship between India and Norway.

Norway is considered to be the hub of marine agriculture, therefore a strong relationship with Norway will ensure the growth of marine business in India. The mutual cooperation between India and Norway will enhance the progress of the country and help India to build a strong identity in all the sectors.

The Norwegian PM will also have a talk with PM Narendra Modi later in the day. The meeting is supposed to be an important one in which many important agreements are likely to be signed.

Solberg was given a warm welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan before the official meet.

Ravish Kumar, the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson tweeted that the meeting should be seen as a big opportunity for boosting the blue economy. It will open new horizons for renewable sources of energy in the country as well as expand political relations of both the nations.
