Sushil Chandra replaces Rani Nair as chairperson of CBDT

New Delhi: Sushil Chandra on Tuesday replaced Rani Singh Nair as the Chairperson of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). He was a member of investigation in CBDT since December 2015.

Chandra, a 1980 batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax Cadre), held top positions including the Principal Chief Commissioner and Director General of Income Tax at Ahmedabad, Commissioner of Income Tax (Central) and Director of Income Tax (Investigation) at Mumbai.

Sources from the Income Tax department said that Chandra's tenure will last till May next year.
