Supreme court of India announced the big decision on Schedule Cast/ Schedule Tribe act. This decision gave big relaxation to central government.

Parliament had, by an amendment to the SC/ST Act, introduced section 18A in 2018. The government had resorted to this step to undo the March 2018 judgment of the Supreme Court in Dr. Subhash Kashinath Mahajan vs The State of Maharashtra.

In this judicial bench, there were three judges Justice Arun Misra, Justice Vineet Sharan and Justice Ravindra Bhatt.

To inform, that under this law, protection has been provided to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. According to the SC-ST Amendment Act, the police will immediately register an FIR after receiving the complaint and the police will have the right to arrest the accused without any preliminary investigation.

On 28th March, 2018 Court decided to stop misuse of SC-ST act. People who belongs to this group started using the law in wrong way, few cases came where people were claiming and faking the entire scenario.
