Special Train Services resume: Rules for booking tickets and cancellation

New Delhi: Amid the corona virus epidemic and the lockdown, the Ministry of Railways has started passenger train service from Tuesday ie 12 May. From today onwards, 15 special trains have been started running. According to reports more than 54 thousand tickets have been booked today. All passengers will be required to wear masks during the journey to prevent the corona virus. Also, the railways will allow travel only to passengers whose tickets are confirmed.

According to the information given by the railway, passengers will be able to book tickets for the journey of these trains 7 days in advance. Also can cancel your ticket 24 hours before the trip. Ticket booking has been started for these 15 pairs of special trains from 4 pm on 11th May.

Booking before 7 days:

According to the information given by the railways, to travel in these trains, you have to book a ticket 7 days in advance. RAC and waiting tickets will not be issued at the moment. Apart from this, TTE will also not be allowed to make any passenger ticket in the train.

Only online service is available:

Tickets can only be booked online for these trains. Tickets for train travel can only be booked through IRCTC website (https://www.irctc.co.in/) or mobile app. Railways has said that ticket counters at railway stations will not be opened yet. Also, for these special trains you will not be able to book with the authorized agents of IRCTC or Indian Railways.

Booking in these trains was supposed to start at 4 pm on May 11, but it crashed due to excessive loading on the website for booking. Due to which the booking work was postponed for 2 hours. After this booking started from 6 pm. So far, more than 54 thousand tickets have been booked.
