Software engineer stabbed publically in Pune, dies in hospital

Pune: An unidentified attacker stabbed a 23-year-old software engineer multiple times here on Friday night when she was seen running on a road, reportedly to escape from the attacker.

The girl, identified as Antara Das, was an employee at Capgemini. She was attacked by the man just a few meters away from her office premises.

She was reportedly bleeding from her neck when seen on the road by the passersby. She was taken to the nearby Dhanvantari hospital by two of them where she was declared dead.

One of the two people, who brought Antara to the hospital, claimed to have seen the attacker.

The eyewitness in his statement said Antara had a heated argument with the man who then hit her on her head, stabbed her on the road when she tried to escape.

Police is on the lookout for the suspected killer and is also in touch with Antara's parents to find out if the attacker was known to her.
