Fresh snowfall in the hilly areas of North India has started inviting tourists. Shimla has witnessed snowfall in December after decades. However, due to snowfall in the mountains, a new round of cold wave may start in the plains in the next four-five days. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the minimum temperature will gradually fall by two to four degrees Celsius in northwest, central and eastern India for the next three days. After that, no significant change will be seen this week. A mild cold wave will prevail in Rajasthan till December 13. Cold wave may prevail in Madhya Pradesh from December 11 to December 13. Apart from these, cold winds will also blow in Uttarakhand, Himachal, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

After a long wait, there was good snowfall and rain simultaneously in the mountains and plains of North India on Sunday. The plains have started enjoying the sunshine and cold wind with normal winter weather. The weather will improve further during this week and normal cold will continue. That is, there will be a slight cold wave with a drop in morning temperature and fog. Light rain in some areas of Delhi on Sunday night has increased the feeling of cold.

Heavy rains are expected in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and coastal Andhra Pradesh due to western disturbance. There is a possibility of lightning with thunder in many parts of South Karnataka and Kerala. Heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Tamil Nadu due to the low pressure area. Apart from this, fog is likely in parts of Northeast India like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. The weather may remain cold and foggy in these states for the next few days.

-The minimum temperature in Srinagar on Monday was recorded at minus 3.3 degrees Celsius. The famous ski resort Gulmarg recorded a temperature of minus 9.0 degrees Celsius on Monday. -Pahalgam's temperature dropped to minus 6.8 degrees, Zojila on the Srinagar-Ladakh highway recorded a minimum temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius, Sonamarg minus 7.0 degrees and Shopian minus 7.7 degrees Celsius.

Himachal Pradesh: -13.1 degrees in Lahaul-Spiti

Popular destinations like Shimla's Ridge Maidan, Kufri and Sirmaur's Churdhar received the first light snowfall of the season.

Rohtang Pass, Baralacha and Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti recorded the lowest temperature of -13.1 degrees.

Narkanda, Manali and Solan and other areas recorded mercury near zero. Parts of Kullu and Bilaspur received light drizzle, increasing the cold. Tribal areas of Chamba received up to 30 cm of snow.

After a sudden change in weather in Uttarakhand, the first snowfall of the season occurred on Monday. Snowfall has also occurred in Nainital and other high altitude areas of Kumaon. The peaks of Munsiyari have been covered in a blanket of snow.

In the lake city of Nainital too, snowflakes fell for some time for the first time in the season. The tourism businessmen are very excited about this. They are hopeful that snowfall can be seen in the month of December after many years.
