Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday met family members of head jail constable Ramashankar Yadav who was killed by SIMI terrorists on Monday and paid tribute to him.

Consoling them he asserted that the killers were dreaded terrorists who had killed a person for whom security of the nation was first and everything else came afterwards. He regretted that some political parties and leaders were as usual playing politics over the incident.

It is all the more painful because he had fixed his daughter's marriage in December and had to make a lot of arrangements for the same. He has two sons who have joined defence services. He announced that the colony where the martyr was living would be named after him.

A statue of the constable will be erected soon and his next kin will receive an ex-gratia payment of Rs five lakhs, he further announced.

Giving details, Chouhan said the jail had 3400 inmates. On Diwali night when the incident took place there were only 40 security guards on duty as against normal 70 due to the festival. The terrorists chose this day for action due to this reason. They escaped after killing the constable but within eight hours police killed them in an encounter.

The video which has gone viral on social media and which shows terrorist talking of surrender is fake and unreliable. It is a handiwork of some terrorist group. If needed an inquiry into the incident can be made by the National Intelligence Agency.

The Madhya Pradesh police has already begun investigation into it and will soon submit its report to the Human Rights Commission. Evidence collect so far does not support the opposition theory.
