MP CM Shivraj Singh becomes foster father of constable's daughter

Bhopal: Fulfilling the duties of a father, Madya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the wedding of Sonia, the daughter of a constable Ramashankar Yadav who was killed during an encounter with a terrorist outfit.

Representing himself as the bride's father, the CM welcomed the Baaratis and blessed her and the groom for a happy future.

Chouhan also had a special gift for his newly married daughter. He presented the recruitment letter to Sonia and appointed her as assistant grade III in GAD (General Administration Department).

  • Chouhan visited the Hallmark Garden in Halalpura at 0400 hours while he was going to Gwalior to take the stock of the preparations for the wedding.
  • Sub Divisional magistrate, several tehsildars and other officials were deployed to venue early morning to keep an eye on the wedding arrangements.
  • Later at around 2030 hours Chouhan along with other ministers including Vishwas Sarang reached the venue and stayed there for an hour.

It may be mentioned that Sonia's father constable Ramashankar Yadav (56) was killed by SIMI operatives on October 30, inside Bhopal Central jail during jailbreak here. The prisoners were suspected terrorists of the Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
