Shahdara Sexual Assault Case: Delhi Police Arrests 11 Accused

New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested 11 people in connection with the alleged gang rape and misbehavior with a woman in Shahdara area of ​​Delhi.

11 arrested in Shahdara Gang Rape Case:

Of the 11 people arrested, 9 are women. The matter is of Kasturba Nagar area of ​​Shahdara on Wednesday 26 January. According to the police, a woman was allegedly gang-raped here after kidnapping her from her house. After this they inked her face, shaved her head and made her wear a garland of shoes around her neck. The police had described the incident as a case of mutual enmity.

Delhi Police said on Friday that nine of the 11 named in the FIR are women and more arrests will be made soon. Police said that the husband of the victim woman gave a complaint regarding this incident. The husband was not present at the house and after getting information from his landlord, he informed the police.

Women Commission issues notice to Delhi Police:

Police said that a team immediately reached the spot after getting information about the incident. The police rescued the 20-year-old woman and took her to the police station. The police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Sections of gang rape, physical assault, sexual assault and criminal conspiracy have also been added to it.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also called the incident a shameful act on Thursday. He had urged the central government to instruct the police to take strict action in this matter. The Delhi Commission for Women has also sent a notice to the police in this regard.
