Seven-storey building collapses in Hyderabad, three killed

At least three people were killed and more than 10 people were feared trapped under the debris of a multi storey building that collapsed at IT Hub Nanakaramguda, late on Thursday night, in Cyderabad area here.

Hyderabad: At least three people were killed and more than 10 people were feared trapped under the debris of a multi storey building that collapsed at IT Hub Nanakaramguda, late on Thursday night, in Cyderabad area here.

According to Hyderabad's Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin,"Rescue operations are underway. Two persons including a child were rescued and taken to nearby hospital."

What else the mayor said?

  • National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel along with workers of local administration were involved in the rescue operations.
  • More machines have arrived for the operations.
  • Safety norms were ignored during the construction of building.

It may be mentioned that a seven-storey under construction building collapsed in Nanakramguda area of Cyderabad district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place at around 2200 hours on Thursday last.

A police official said that watchman of the building along with his family and a few workers were on the ground floor of the building when it came down.
