Shillong: The Central Bureau of Investigation, on Wednesday, concluded its questioning of Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar in connection with Saradha chit-fund scam after five days of rigorous interrogation. After three hours of questioning today, he can now return to Kolkata.

Following Supreme Court directions, Kumar went to Shillong on February 9 to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation in relation to his involvement in the infamous Saradha chit fund and Rose Valley chit fund cases.

The Kolkata Police chief, who was accused of withholding some documents related to these chint fund cases, was being questioned by the probing agency since Saturday.

On Tuesday, Kumar was grilled by the CBI officials for over 10 hours.

On February 5, the Supreme Court had directed Kumar to cooperate with CBI and ask them to meet in a neutral place i.e. Shillong. The apex court had also said that no coercive step should be taken against Kumar.
