The Russian government has sought cooperation from India for the production of its Corona vaccine Sputnik Five and the third phase clinical trial. According to government sources, the National Expert Group on Vaccine for Covid19 discussed the issue in its meeting on 22 August.

Clinical trial of Vaccine:

Gamalaya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology has created Sputnik Five in collaboration with the Russian Direct Investment Fund. This vaccine could not be tested in Phase III or in a detailed clinical trial. There is some doubt about the limited data related to the vaccine potential.

A government source said, "The Russian government has approached the Indian government seeking cooperation for the production of its Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik Five and for the third phase of trials in the country."

The Department of Biotechnology as well as the Department of Health Research have been asked to look into the issue. Russian government officials have shared some information and data on Sputnik Five. Data regarding the safety and efficacy of the vaccine is awaited. '

Vaccine trial on Putin's daughter:

Russia's President Putin says that this vaccine has been administered to his daughter as well and has not shown any side effects. He says that the daughter had a fever after the second dose but after a while everything was back to normal and she is completely healthy. Antibodies levels also show higher. He claimed that the vaccine has met all safety standards and will be produced in large numbers soon.

Scientists say that it takes longer for any vaccine to be tested on humans, while Russia has done it in less than two months. All types of tests of any vaccine cannot be completed in a short time.
