Red Fort Violence: Delhi Police arrests Khempreet Singh & Maninderjit Singh

Internet Suspended in Parts of Delhi Amid Farmers’ Rallies Unrest

New Delhi: Two more people were arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch in the Red Fort Violence case of 26th January. The Crime Branch has arrested Maninderjit Singh (who holds citizenship of the Netherlands) and Khempreet Singh, who live in Birmingham, UK.

Red Fort Violence:

On January 26, during the tractor rally, many farmers and protesters broke the consensus formed with the Delhi Police and reached the Red Fort complex and hoisted the religious flag there.

Delhi Police arrests Maninderjit:

Delhi Police Crime Branch said that Maninderjit Singh has an old criminal history and has been arrested from Delhi Airport. He was trying to escape from the country on fake travel documents. Apart from this, accused Khempreet allegedly attacked policemen on duty inside the Red Fort with Farsa. Police arrested Manjinder from IGI Airport.

Maninderjeet felt that the police will soon reach him and arrest him. So he was about to run away by preparing fake travel papers that he was caught from Indira Gandhi Airport. The police had also issued a Look Out Circular Notice against him. Two cases were already registered against Manjinder.

The second accused Khempreet was absconding since 26 January and was escaping arrest. Khempreet is the accomplice of the first arrested accused Maninder Singh. Maninder was caught a few days by the Special Cell, who was wielding a sword with both hands in the violence. Delhi Police had told that Maninder Singh along with 5 of his comrades and other miscreants entered the Red Fort and committed fencing. This fencing encouraged the miscreants and started attacking the police.
