New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Thursday notified the guidelines for the reopening of universities and colleges across the country. Educational institutions closed from March due to the covid-19 pandemic.

UGC issues Guidelines for schools Colleges:

For central universities and other centrally funded higher education institutions, the decision to reopen campuses is left to their vice-chancellors and heads.

The guidelines state that the respective state governments will have to decide for the universities and colleges of the states.

Guidelines in Points:

As per the guidelines, classes will start for all other institutions including state universities, private universities and colleges as per the decisions of the respective state governments.

Guidelines says Universities and colleges should make plans to open campuses in a phased manner.

Mask and Social distancing compulsory:

Insist on activities that follow the corona virus norms. These include social distance, use of masks.

The guidelines state that universities and colleges will be allowed to open only when they are outside the prohibited areas.

No School will open in containment zone:

Also, students and employees living in prohibited areas not allowed to attend colleges.

Along with this, students and staff advised not to visit the areas which come in the prohibited areas.

University and college teachers, staff and students should encourage to download the Arogya Setu App.
