New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata party senior leader Subramaniam Swami, on Sunday, giving reference to Mahatam Gandhi's freedom struggle said it might take some more time to build Ram temple in Ayodhya but his party will surely build a Ram temple there.
During a conference the Rajya Sabha MP, Swami said that Mahatma Gandhi had promised to give Swaraj within a year in 1929, but it took him 17 years more, similarly, it may take some more time to his party but it will certainly build a Lord Ram temple on Ramjanam Bhoomi. He further cited the example of surgical strike and said Pakistan will be further divided into four parts.
In this program organized by the University of Delhi at the Arundhati Vashishth Research conference center, he urged people not to get disappointed if the Ram temple construction doesn't start before Lok Sabha elections, his party will build the temple where lord Ram was born.
He also extended his support to give Ramjanam Bhoomi to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and said that not even one inch of the disputed land would be given to anyone.
Swamy also commented why Modi government is delaying Ram temple construction. He said he do not know what the prime minister has decided, why he moved to the Supreme Court seeking permission for the land.
He further reasoned it by saying that Modi might be avoiding it so there are no conflicts on this ground in the upcoming general election. He, however, indicated that it will be built after the 2019 polls are over.
Swami cited a provision from the Indian Constitution, in Article 308, that empowers government to impound any land belonging to anyone by giving a fair compensation. He said that the fair compensation will be given and they do not even need to go to court for this. All they will be needed to do, just let the court know about it.
Switching to surgical strike, Swami said, "According to many experts around the world, this was unprecedented. That day is not far when we are going to witness that we have made four pieces of Pakistan."
