During the hearing on the contempt case against Yogguru Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurveda MD Acharya Balkrishna for making 'misleading claims' by Patanjali Ayurveda for its medicines, the Supreme Court asked Patanjali whether the medicines whose license has been suspended should be allowed to be sold at the shop. What steps have been taken by them to stop him and bring him back? Also said that an affidavit should be filed regarding this. The Supreme Court has sought a reply from Patanjali regarding this within three weeks.

The case was heard by the Supreme Court bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah, who exempted Ramdev and Balkrishna from appearance till further orders. However, the Supreme Court reserved its order on whether Ramdev and Balkrishna will be prosecuted for contempt of court or not.

The Supreme Court told Patanjali that our aim is only that people should remain alert. People have faith in Baba Ramdev, he should use it positively. Baba Ramdev has also contributed to the promotion of Yoga across the world.

The Court said that all state governments should keep in mind that if a complaint is registered, then they should take action. Even if a complaint has not been filed, still check whether the product is being advertised as misleading or not?

The Supreme Court said that the affidavit has not been filed by FSSAI, the Consumer Affairs Ministry will have to file a new deleted affidavit. The court has also sought an affidavit from FSSAI. The affidavit has been filed only on behalf of the West Bengal government. An affidavit has been filed on behalf of Nagaland last night. The Supreme Court gave last chance to the licensing authorities of all the state governments to file their replies. The Supreme Court will hear after four weeks.
