Raj Babbar downplays JD(U) claims, says only Rahul can outclass PM

New Delhi: Crushing the Janata Dal (United)'s claims that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is the only politician who can replace Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress Utttar Pradesh chief Raj Babbar on Friday said it is Rahul Gandhi’s simplicity which can counter PM Modi.

“If anyone can outshine PM Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it is the simplicity of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi,” said Raj Babbar.

Earlier, Janata Dal (United) had said that Nitish Kumar is the only one who can replace PM Modi. “There is a need that opposition should come together to create alternative against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that alternative is none other than the Bihar Chief Minister,” party had said.

Bharatiya Janata Party, following a stellar triumph in UP Assembly elections, is on cloud nine. It is after a gap of 14 long years that party is set to form government in Uttar Pradesh. The oath ceremony will take place on March 19.
