Pune: Phursungi bids adieu to martyr Saurabh Farate

Pune: A Pall of gloom has descended in Pune's Phursungi village and a large number of people of the village on Monday bid a tearful adieu to martyr Saurabh Farate, who was killed in militant attack on army convoy, in Pampore district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday last.

The mortal remains of the matryr were flown for the last rites to his native place in Hadapsar area here on Monday.

Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar also visited the martyr's residence and consoled his family and relatives.

Saurabh had served the Indian army for last 13 years.

He was survived by his wife, two daughters and a brother who also serves in the army.
