PM Narendra Modi expresses grief over Istanbul terror attack

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his grief over Istanbul suicide terror attack, which took place at the Ataturk airport in small hours of Wednesday. Modi took to twitter to condole the deaths of people after three serial suicide blasts took place at the busiest airport of Istanbul.

Prime Minister's tweet:

The attack killed as many as 40 people and another 147 were wounded.

Although, there was no immediate claim of responsibility, the Turkish Prime Minister Yildirim has pointed out to ISIS being behind the attacks.

"The terrorists came to the airport in a taxi and then carried out their attacks. The fact that they were carrying guns added to the toll. Preliminary findings suggest all three attackers first opened fire then detonated themselves,” said Yildirim.

According to the Turkish official sources, “the three bombers in the Istanbul airport attack, two of them were at the international terminal, and the third terrorist was in the nearby parking lot. All three detonated suicide vests.”

The attack:

Three serial suicide blasts took place, in small hours on Wednesday, at the Ataturk airport of Istanbul, which is also the 11th busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic.

According to Witnesses it was a deadly carnage that led to bloodshed and a panic situation among the passengers.
