President Mukherjee to confer 42 achievement awards on Children’s day

New Delhi: The President Pranab Mukherjee will confer as many as 42 awards to children as well as child welfare institutions on the occasion of Children’s day on Monday. These awards would be given to them for their exceptional achievements. The awards are to be given in three categories namely, National Child Awards for Exceptional Achievements, National Awards for Child Welfare and Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Awards.

The recipients would include a Paralympics swimmer, a chess player, an equestrian and also students with keen interest in music amongst those who have added several technological innovations to their name.

About the awards:

  • The National Child Awards for Exceptional Achievements would be conferred to the children in the age group of 5 to 18 years and would include one gold medal and 30 silver medals.

  • The Gold medallist would be awarded a cheque of Rs 20,000 and cheque amounted to Rs 10,000 each would be given to the silver medallists.

  • National Awards for Child Welfare will be given to five institutions and three individuals. It comprises cash a prize of Rs 3,00,000 to each institution and Rs 1,00,000 to each individual.
