New Delhi: Corona virus-infected former President Pranab Mukherjee has undergone brain surgery at the Army Hospital. According to the information, this surgery has been done to remove a blood clot formed in the brain. According to the hospital's medical bulletin, his condition remains critical and he is placed on ventilator support. A team of doctors is monitoring his health.

Pranab Da tests Corona positive:

Former President Pranab Mukherjee has tested postive for the novel coronavirus. “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today,” Pranab Mukherjee tweeted. He also urged those who came in contact with him in recent times to get themselves tested.

“I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19,” the tweet read further.

President Ramnath Kovind has wished for Pranab Mukherjee to recover soon. He spoke to Mukherjee's daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee and inquired about his father's health. Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted, 'The President talked to Sharmishtha Mukherjee and inquired about the health of her father, former President Pranab Mukherjee. The President wished him a speedy recovery and good health.

A number of political leaders have been tested COVID positive in recent times. They include Union ministers Amit Shah, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Vishvas Sarang, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In addition, Dharmendra Pradhan, B. Sriramulu, Karnataka chief minister, agriculture minister BC Patil and Congress’ leader of the opposition, Siddaramaiah, and Karti Chidambaram among others.
