The former President of the country, Pranab Mukherjee, was accorded a state funeral on Tuesday at the cremation ground at Lodhi Road. His son Abhijit and family members arrived wearing PPE kits. Son Abhijeet Banerjee completed the final ceremony process.

The last rites of the former President were held after 2 pm at the cremation ground on Lodhi Road. Earlier, the mortal remains were kept in the coffin at his residence at 10 Rajaji Marg for a final darshan. Due to Corona being infected, the last visit and the funeral process was completed under the special process of the last announced last rites by the government. For this reason, his body was taken to the crematorium in a closed van.

Pranab Da passes away at 84:

The body of former President Pranab Mukherjee has been brought from the Army Hospital (R&R) to his government residence at 10, Rajaji Marg. His body will be kept here for the last darshan till 12 noon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee at his residence. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee.

Former President Pranab Mukherjee has said goodbye to the world. He died on Monday evening. He was 84 years old. Pranab Mukherjee was admitted to the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital on 10 August. He underwent surgery on the same day. He has two sons and a daughter. Pranab Mukherjee, a longtime Congress leader, was a seven-time MP.

At the age of 47, he became India’s youngest Finance Minister in 1982. He later served as Foreign Minister, Defense Minister and Finance and Commerce Minister.
