Power of indigenous weapons will make the Indian army strong, deals worth Rs 1.45 lakh crore approved

Amid rising tensions with China, the central government took a big decision regarding the modernization of the Indian army. The government has approved defense deals worth about Rs 1 lakh 45 thousand crore to increase the capacity of the armed forces and modernize them. With the help of these deals, the strength of our three armies will increase. Old Russian T 72 tanks are now going to be replaced by new indigenous tanks, in which the crew will remain safe even in the event of bomb and drone attacks. Seven hi-tech warships will also be built for the Navy. The Air Force's Sukhoi 30 MKI aircraft will also be upgraded according to the fifth generation.
A meeting of the Defense Procurement Council was held under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, in which 10 purchase proposals worth Rs 1 lakh 44 thousand 716 crore were approved (AON). 99 percent of the total cost of these deals will be of the category designed, developed and manufactured in the country itself. After this decision of the Center, the shares of defense sector companies saw a rise.
The Defense Ministry said that these proposals also include the proposal to purchase 'Future Ready Combat Vehicles (FRCV)' for the modernization of the army's tank fleet. FRCV will be the main battle tank equipped with better mobility, ability to work in all terrains, multi-layered protection, accurate and lethal fire control equipment. These tanks will be equipped with top attack protection systems, which will keep the crew safe even in the event of bomb and drone attacks. Compared to old tanks, it will be easier to transport them from one place to another. Multilayer security system will be installed in the tanks.
Three defense deals have been approved to further enhance the capabilities of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The purchase of Air Defense Fire Control Radar has also been given the green signal. This radar will not only easily detect the aerial target, but will also provide intensive monitoring of the sky. It will monitor and provide firing related solutions.
