New Delhi: Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be used to prevent air pollution in Delhi-NCR. Under this, the Air Quality Management Commission will develop a Decision Support System (DSS) tool for Delhi NCR and its surroundings.

The commission has started its process. Through this, chemical transport model can be used to find out what factors are responsible for pollution.

To find the source of pollution

Chemicals and pollutants present in the air, by which the source of pollution will come in front. Therefore, it is helpful in curbing those sources of sewage pollution. This decision support system is based on web, geographical information system (GIS) and multi model.

Preparation:

A framework prepared for this project. The Commission has given responsibility to Meteorological Department, IIT Pune, IIT Delhi, NEERI (National Environmental Engineering Research Institute) and C-DAC (Center for Development Advance Computing) Pune. All these institutions have received different responsibilities.

Measures for pollution prevention

With the development of this system, the DSS tool will be helpful in detecting emissions from various sources of pollution. Accordingly, they will take measures to prevent pollution.

Reason of Pollution in Delhi:

Industrial units in Delhi NCR, vehicles, power plants, dust from construction work, DG sets, dust mites, stubble burning, landfills, etc. have been the main causes of pollution. These will all include the DSS tool in it. It will be able to know which reason is responsible for the pollution.
