PM Modi degraded his position, says Rahul Gandhi over ‘raincoat’ jibe

New Delhi: Replying to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘raincoat’ jibe at former PM Manmohan Singh, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said by making such a statement former has degraded his position and himself too.

Calling the drama in Rajya Sabha as shameful, Rahul, on Twitter, said PM Modi spoiled the dignity of Parliament and the entire country.

Other Congress leaders are also outraged over the same, saying, they will not let PM Modi speak in Rajya Sabha until he apologize for his intolerable comment.

Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said party preferred to stage a walkout in Rajya Sabha in order to show its protest.

“It was in extremely poor taste. It is unbecoming of a Prime Minister to use such language against the former PM. It certainly is unbecoming of anyone to say such harsh, ugly statements about Dr Manmohan Singh. We are very disappointed and angry,” said Chidambaram.

Congress leader Kapil Sibbal said that Prime Minister of India should maintain of his chair.
