PM Modi meets Barack Obama in White House on Thursday

Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US President Barack Obama on Thursday and discussed bilateral and other issues at Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in the White House.

“In the afternoon, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India," said White House in a press release.

It was the eighth meeting in two years between the two.

Firstly, they had met at the White House in September, 2014 when PM Modi was invited by the US President.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi also met Anmarese State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi th India-ASEAN Summit and the 11th East Asia Summit in Vientiane.

PM Modi also met Lao Prime Minister PDR HE Thongloun Sisoulith.

In the India-ASEAN Summit, Modi said that terrorism is the major threat to the society and that export of terrorism should be stopped.
