VGGTS 2019 have 15 Partner Countries with Country Pavilions of Canada, France, Japan, Poland, South Korea, Thailand, The Netherland, UAE, South Africa, Sweden, Uzbekistan, Czech Republic, Norway, Australia and Morocco. A large Africa Pavilion will have more than 25 countries representing the continent of Africa including 2 partner countries – Morocco & South Africa.

PM inaugurates biggest-ever Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a six-day long global trade show at the Exhibition Ground here on Thursday, organised as part of the ninth edition of the biennial 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit' 2019.

Around 25 industrial and business sectors are showcasing their products at the event which was initiated by Narendra Modi in 2003, when he was the Gujarat Chief Minister.

After inaugurating the trade show, Modi visited a few pavilions and saw some of the products kept on display. The trade show will continue till January 22 and will be open for general public on the last two days (January 21 and 22).

Until the 20th of January, the exhibition will be reserved mostly for delegates participating in Buyer Seller Meets and Reverse Buyer Seller Meets along with media and academia. From the second half the 20th of January, the Exhibition will be open to all visitors.

With a new paradigm shift, this Exhibition aims to provide a platform for multi-sector B2B engagements, wherein there will be, inter alia, Buyer – Seller Meets, Reverse Buyer – Seller Meets, Vendor Developments Programmes, Business Networking, Technology Assessment and Strategic Partnerships.

Over 1500 Overseas and Domestic Buyers were expected in VGGTS 2019. The Vendor Development Programme is being organized to build stronger synergies between MSME and Large Scale Enterprises including PSUs. The business generated through Buyer Seller Meet and Reverse Buyer Seller Meet is expected to reach close to Rs. 2000 crore.

Nearly 1.5 million visitors and approximately 3000 International Delegates from over 100 countries are expected at the Exhibition. A replica of Statue of Unity, Bullet Train simulator, Farm-to-Fabric Pavilion and Fashion Show with a focus on ‘Make in India’ and Khadi are some of the attractions at the Trade Show. The Fashion Show in association with Gujarat Chambers of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) will be held at the Sabarmati Riverfront on the evening of 19th January.

Other highlights include a display of Innovation and Technology, particularly Robotics and Laser Cutting,: with an expected participation from most of the countries and Service Sectors: Medicare and Health, Audio Visual Services, ITES and Communication.

Pavilions displaying flagship initiatives of Government of India: Make In India, Digital India, Start-up India, Sagarmala, Ayushman Bharat and Indradhanush also adorned the Trade Show.

With Government of Gujarat’s thrust on Exports, Trade and Investment Potential for Vibrant Gujarat 2019, some of the major pavilions housed at the VGGTS will be Agro and Food Processing, Automobiles and E Mobility, Banking and Finance, Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals; Bio Technology, Ceramics, Ports, Transport and Logistics, Power and Renewable, Start-ups and Innovation, Textiles, Travel, Tourism and Hospitality, Urban Infrastructure, Water Treatment and Environment, Education, Skill Development and Engineering.

The State Government has formulated an Exhibition Committee to oversee preparations for the VGGTS 2019, which is coordinated by S.J Haider, Principal Secretary (Tourism).
