PIL filed against BJP in Mumbai on using lotus as party symbol

Mumbai: A public interest litigation has been filed in the Bombay High Court against the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) symbol—Lotus,

Hemant Patil, the petitioner has requested the court to issue an order to election commission in this regard.

What petitioner said:

• Lotus is our national flower and it cannot be used as a party symbol
• Accused BJP of using Lotus symbol for political purpose.
• This is a violation of public trust Act 1950.
