New Delhi: In a shocking news, the petrol pumps across India are mulling to have a weekly off on every Sunday and open for only nine hours from 9 am to 6 pm on the other days.

The decision is likely to be implemented from May 14 this year. The petrol pump dealers association has called for a 'No Purchase Day' on May 10.

According to the reports, the petrol pump dealers of the country have threatened to keep the pumps closed on Sundays appealing the government to fulfill their demands.

The Consortium of Indian Petroleum Dealers (CIPD) is miffed with the oil marketing companies for not fulfilling their written promise of giving dealer margins on the basis of Apurva Chandra committee report.
