New Delhi: The petrol prices on Tuesday were cut by Rs. 1.46 per litre and diesel rates by Rs. 1.53 per litre. The change in the fuel prices will be effective from midnight.

Petrol per litre will cost Rs. 65.93 per litre while adiesel rates will be Rs. 54.71 per litre in New Delhi.

"The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant decrease in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision," Indian Oil Corp (IOC) said in a statement.

"The movement of prices in the international oil market and INR-USD exchange rate shall continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes," it added.

Earlier, on November 5, petrol prices were hiked by 89 paisa while diesel prices were increased by 86 paisa.
