New Delhi: Petrol price was hiked by Rs 2.19 per litre and diesel by 98 paise a litre on Tuesday.

“In Delhi, petrol will cost Rs 61.87 per litre as against Rs 59.68 earlier. Likewise, one litre of diesel will cost Rs 49.31 against the previous price of Rs 48.33,” said an official of Indian Oil Corporation, the country’s biggest fuel retailer.

  • This is the second straight increase in petrol price while, the fourth fortnightly increase in diesel rates.
