Pakistan releases 86 Indian fishermen in a goodwill gesture

Karachi: Pakistan government on Sunday released Indian fishermen who were arrested for allegedly trespassing their water territorial.

It is the second batch of fishermen released by Pakistan in a month.

  • They were jailed in the Malir jail of Karachi and they would travel to Lahor by train where they will be handed to Indian authorities at the Wagah border.
  • Their journey to Lahore was sponsored by the Edhi trust, international media reported.
  • There are around 363 Indian fishermen jailed in Pakistan.
