New Delhi: In a response to Pakistan's ceasefire violation, Indian army on Thursday gunned down their two soldiers while one Indian army jawan lost his life while bravely defending the Line of Control (LOC).

Giving a befitting reply to Pak's infiltration, Indian Army inflicted heavy damage upon Pakistan Army positions, by responding with artillery and mortar fire. The ceasefire violations took place along the Line of Control in the Uri sector last night.

The Pakistan Army in a statement said that two of its soldiers were killed firing by the Indian troops along the Line of Control (LOC).

However, one Indian Army Subedar was martyred in Pakistani firing.

Indian army chief, General Bipin Rawat had recently stated that situation on LoC can deteriorate and the Indian Army is always ready for the escalatory matrix.

Meanwhile, Centre had also informed Rajya Sabha earlier this month, that there have been 950 incidents of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir region from August to October.

"There have been 950 incidents of Ceasefire Violations along Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir region during the last three months (August to October, 2019)," was written by a leader in reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.
