NEW DELHI: According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), 57, 118 cases a day were reported. It was reported that 764 people died in the last 24 hours. At the same time 36569 people got cured in 1 day. The total infection cases in the country so far have been 16,95,988. According to the data, India's recovery rate increased from 64.4% to 64.5%.

764 Deaths in a Day:

On the other hand, the total number of infections reached 40,269 after 1,862 new cases of covid-19 in Assam on Friday. A nine-day-old baby was also found infected with Covid-19 in the state.

In addition, the death toll increased to 98 after the death of four more patients due to Covid-19 infection. State Health Minister Himant Biswa Sarma gave this information.

Sarma said that 9,811 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the state. The number of healthy people in the state increased to 30,357 after 1,277 more patients recovered from the infection. He tweeted, "38,324 samples were tested in the last 24 hours of which 1,862 people have confirmed infection. Infection rate is 4.85 percent. "

A total of 40,269 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Assam so far, of which 14,974 cases have been found in the capital Guwahati.

The rate of infection recovery in the state is 68.92 percent. The department said that 21 people died in Kolkata in a day due to infection. Apart from this, 13 people died in North 24 Parganas on Friday, three in South 24 Parganas, two each in Howrah, Hooghly and Murshidabad and one each in Nadia, Malda and Alipurduar districts.
