New Delhi: The country's digital media has now come under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Central Government on Wednesday issued an order to this effect. A decision in this regard was taken in the cabinet meeting last week.

Digital Media under IB Ministry:

Now digital media will also be under the control and control of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. As per the order, the content of online films, audio-visual programs and online news and current affairs (current affairs) will now come under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

This order of the government has come into force with immediate effect. As per the order, the film and audio-visual programs made available by online content providers and news and current content on online platforms will come under the Ministry of Information.

OTT Platform includes Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, MX Player, Voot, Disney plus Hotstar etc. Now the content will be under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

Also the content available online, like videos, Audios, Podcasting will come under IB Ministry.

News which is available online, like current affairs, web portals also under IB Ministry. Web magazine, Web based News channels.

Also,Govt is working in the direction of content served by OTT Platform. Within three weeks of the lockdown being implemented, porn viewing in the country increased by 95 percent. The benefit of which OTT platforms running on both free and premium services in the country took full advantage.

Due to no restriction, OTT owners got the exemption that 'Triple X', 'Gandi Baat', 'Charamsukh' and not knowing which web series started coming to market. Now the police have decided to take action against them.
