One army jawan martyred, other injured in Pak cross border firing

Srinagar: One Indian Army jawan martyred while other sustained injuries in Pakistan’s cross border firing in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

“The Indian army has effectively retaliated using same calibre weapons, shelling and firing exchanges is still on,” an official said. One soldier named Harshit Batoriya lost his life in the unprovoked firing while Man Kamla injured and has been rushed to hospital.

Two other jawans were injured on Friday when Pakistan violated ceasefire in Keran sector.

In ceasefire violations, India has lost its 10 soldiers in the last two-three weeks. Eight civilians were also killed in Pakistan firing. Pakistan has violated ceasefire more than 60 times since Indian Army’s surgical strike on September 28.
