Since the beginning of Chardham Yatra, a large number of devotees have been reaching Uttarakhand. In view of the increasing crowds of the devotees, offline registration has been closed for two days. There will be no offline registration today and tomorrow i.e. on 15th May and 16th May. In view of the large number of devotees arriving, offline registrations for Chardham Yatra on Wednesday and Thursday have been stopped. Let us tell you that these registrations were taking place in Haridwar and Rishikesh.

Thousands of devotees are already stranded in Haridwar and Rishikesh. Due to the crowd and the resulting chaos and trouble, devotees have been stopped at various places on the way. It is believed that this year the number of devotees arriving for Chardham Yatra has increased by 44 percent. For the last several years, guidelines were in place due to the Corona epidemic, due to which devotees were not able to reach their deity. Now the situation is better than before, so more and more people are reaching Uttarakhand for darshan.

Offline registration in Haridwar and Rishikesh centers has been closed on 15th and 16th May. Registrations were being done at these centers from 7 am to 7 pm. A free registration center has been set up at Rishi Kul Ground in Haridwar. But today, due to lack of registration, the gate has been closed and police force has been deployed there. Notices have been put up at the gate that registrations are closed for 2 days. However, passengers are arriving in large numbers for registration, to whom the policemen are sending them back after informing them that they are not registered. Because of this, the pilgrims have to face problems and they are not able to understand that when they came, they were meant to go to Char Dham Yatra but now what to do for two days.

Due to huge crowd, there is a huge traffic jam in Uttarakhand. According to the information, devotees remained stuck in the jam for about 22 hours. The local administration is also appealing to the people to move forward intermittently. Keeping in mind the safety of the devotees, a step has been taken to close the registration for two days, so that the crowd can reduce a bit. Ever since offline registration has started, all the slots for the month of May have been booked, due to which many people could not get the slot. Although online registrations are happening continuously.

The picture coming in the media is enough to tell how large number of pilgrims are reaching Yamunotri and Gangotri. There is no space to walk on the road nor is there space on the footpath. Government arrangements are inadequate. However, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj says that the crowd is happening because of the local people. Long queues of vehicles are visible everywhere on the roads of the hill state. Be it Gangotri or Yamunotri, there is traffic jam everywhere.
