New Delhi: Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has launched a mobile app named 'Harit Path' to monitor plantation on highways. The ministry said in a statement that the app has been developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Harit Path App:

It will monitor location, development, species details etc. for all plantation projects. Presiding over the meeting to review the new green highway policy through video conference, Gadkari launched this app.

The use of new technology in road construction was also discussed during the meeting. Launching the app, Gadkari emphasized strict monitoring of plantation. He also stressed the use of new technology for road construction across the country.

NHAI to monitor the location and growth:

Gadkari launched 'Harit Path', a mobile app for monitoring plantations through Geo-tagging and web-based GIS enabled monitoring tools. This app has been developed by NHAI to monitor the location, growth, species details, maintenance activities, goals and achievements of each tree planted under all plantation schemes.
