New RBI Governor takes charge after Urjit Patel resigns

Mumbai: Shaktikanta Das, a retired 1980 batch Indian Administrative Service officer on Wednesday took charge as the 25th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India after Urjit Patel resigned on Monday.

He took to his twitter handle where he broke the news to the masses, "Assumed charge as Governor, Reserve Bank of India. Thank you each and everyone for your good wishes," Das tweeted.
