New Delhi: Janata Dal (United) Rajya Sabha Member Ali Anwar has made a controversial remark against the former Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani.

“Good that Irani has been elected as textile minister; it will help her cover her body,” Anwar told a news channel.

" I was referring to the bodies of people in general," added the JD(U) leader later to dilute his remark.

Reacting to the statement, Prakash Javadekar, who took charge of the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry in the reshuffle said, "This is the worst comment I have ever heard. "
