New Delhi: In yet another horrific incident, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a car in South Delhi's Moti Bagh area in late night on Thursday.

The incident took place when the victim was returning to Noida from All India Institute of Medical science (AIIMS).

What officials said:

  • The girl was offered a lift by the car's driver.
  • The car in which the incident took place had the Home Ministry parking sticker placed on it.
  • The accused was nabbed by the police.
  • The further investigation regarding the case is underway.

It may be recalled that four years back, on December 16, 2012, a horrific incident came to light in which a 23-year-old physiotherapy intern was allegedly raped in a moving bus by six shameless people in front of her fiancee. After violently raping, she was thrown out of the bus along with her male friend . Unfortunately on December 29, the victim succumbed to her injuries in a Singapore Hospital.

The incident also led a large protests and candle march across the nation, forcing the government to make strict laws against the harassment of women.
